Seduction of Violence and Misogyny

Misogyny shouldn't prevail in society

In the era of the 21st century, human thinking has evolved to much extent. Still, our mind always tries to find a way to disseminate the emotions that reside in it and try to express itself in whatever form it is comfortable with. One of the rising industry of nowadays is cinema, which provides us with ready-to-watch movies; It can amuse us, fantasize about us, and can also have a profound impact on our minds and personalities, paradoxically it can deteriorate our minds too. Till now we were never familiar with the adverse impact of it. An innocent mind can ask this question how does watching a movie has an impact on our mind? Also, there are certain good movies too. So why should we criticize the addiction of watching movies? But let me ask this question how many good movies do you find on the internet that are genuinely informative and give you a lesson? One can say a hundred or the figure would be greater than this. Who knows, I have never surfed it on the internet. So how many of them have you watched, hardly ten? Once, I had a serious discussion on the impact of movies with one of my friends and meanwhile, he said that he has learned a lot from movies but all and sundry think about it. Do these movies give you any lessons, have you ever applied their lesson anywhere? If not, my question from that friend is, who supports his argument by saying that the Toy Story trilogy has given him a lesson in building relationships and friendship, in his practical life does he have behavior that shows the positive impact of watching that trilogy, if not then what he verbalized is an immature talk, just like a child who use to fantasized himself after watching Ben10 cartoon; of getting a watch and becoming a hero who will save the world. We all are familiar with good things but less talk about bad either for the way of rectification because we tend to listen to what we like or alluring to our mind. Let me tell you how, cricket is a thing many of us are familiar with, we always try to find a like-minded person to commence our discussion about PSLs, IPLs, test matches, the formation of teams, ODIs, etc. So in the same way, a person who is addicted to movies also found himself comfortable talking about the Marvel series, their dimensions philosophy, the series of Harry Potter etc.

The trend of displaying gore in movies.

The 'Animal' Uproar and its impact

On the first of December, a movie titled as "Animal" was released. The director of it was also its editor; Sandeep Reddy, it seems less often for a director to be the editor. Previously, his movie Kabir Singh got famous. I don't have any conflict with any director or whatever the content they create. But when the director's ideology, which is being depicted in movies imprints some negative thoughts on the mind of youth, I have conflict, I have an issue and I will resist. The director himself said that he wanted this movie to be more violent. One can say, what will happen, it's just a movie, why are you resisting it? There is a saying " A man is known by the environment he keeps". So what type of ecosystem do these kinds of movies build? Many movies are released every year and people criticize them, but the fun about Animal kind of movies is, that when you criticize such kind of movies people get aggressive because they idealize the main character who is an emblem of aggression, and short-tempered when you criticize such kind of characters people who support such icons can't stand it and you become the victim of their critic. Well hope you understand what I want to say, i don't want to get into the depth of it. This topic of discussion is vast and ponderable. People tend to adopt the behavior they are exposed to more frequently. If an individual is exposed to an aggressive environment it is likely for him to adapt the aggressive behavior in his day-to-day personality. So movies like "Animal" are cancerous for society. And just to get some extra economy from the movie they showed the bloodbath of bodies.

Desensitization to violence

When a person is more exposed to a violence-like environment, he loses his emotional activity. Some scary movies desensitize the child to violent behavior because such movies result in the release of fear hormones and adrenaline which increase the stress in a child's personality. Desensitization is a much-studied psychological subject about how repeated exposure to violence and aggression diminishes the line between good morals and demonic deeds. Let's review an example for a better view, you like to eat spicy food, at an acme of it you want more and more spiciness and that is the same case with watching violence in movies.

Violence is not a solution.

Hatred towards women:

The rising shift of misogyny and alpha males is being promoted day by day, although, it also exists in history, from a survey conducted by a female of India; who was a student of psychology and doing her master's, a question embarked on her mind that why some people have hatred attitude towards women. She interviewed 122 convicted criminals in an Indian jail, for knowing why these people have misogyny towards women, some of them were murderers and some were rapists. It was found after a survey that criminals who have killed the victim, have redemption but those who had raped the victim don't show any remorse for what they had done and shockingly they thought that what they did was right at that moment.  They replied in the interview that what the girl was doing at the time of the night was so lonely, consequently they wanted to punish the girl for it. The survey resulted in the finding that these males have a strong hatred towards women, although every one of us has a fraction of an aggressive attitude what promotes it is the environment we live in. It's not the  "Animal" movie it's the ideology of this movie that promotes the terms of misogyny and alpha males. Think about the growth of children in an environment where people are more addicted to gore and misogynistic attitudes. I believe that It would never turn out to be good.

Movies that give you a lesson:

Well, if you are still an addict and want to watch some of the informative movies, here we go, i don't like to recommend any movie because I think that it is a waste of time to sit particularly for hours at a place, but still movie teaches us, amuses us and gives us lessons if we want to find one. Going further if you like Sci-fi movies watch "Interstellar", this movie tells you about black holes and the relation between time and space theory. The next one is '"Buzz the Light Years", which also tells about the universe and some space theories. "Uraan", a Tamil movie gives us the lesson of hope and continuous efforts, no matter how many times you fall on the ground. "Oppenheimer" should also be in the list which tells us, the biography of Julius Oppenheimer and the birth of the nuclear bomb during World War 2. One of the interesting movies about how parental behavior with children affects their personality is "The White Ribbon". And last but not least is " Unbroken", it is about the biography of Zamperini who was an athlete captured by the Japanese during World War 2 and how he survived bearing all the trouble at that time, it is all depicted in this movie.

White Ribbon, end of male violence.

In culminating point, I would like to say, that in a world where violence and nudity are being promoted day by day, we shouldn't let these evil affect our inner and outer personality. Despite misogyny being a trend we shouldn't forget that our mother and sister are also women. People must be made aware of the need to oppose violence against women. Education should be given to the young generation to not let these satanic force deteriorate their minds.
