The Journey of Dream to Reality

A guide to an optimistic attitude

The word dream has manifold definition, people define it in accordance to their prior knowledge and what they perceive from worldly experience, for some people, it is about the imagination in the state of sleeping, some call it cherished moments one create to escape from reality and some called it the desire one wants to achieve in future. Well, I have a lot of perspective about it. If I ask you what your dream is? What would you answer, is it about getting a high-paying job by graduating from a prestigious university? or is it about getting an elite status in society? Isn't it a dream of your parents who want to see you in the pinnacle of success? So it means this is not what you really want to do. Think again and answer the question of what your dream is. One can have many dreams no matter what, it can be a fantasy in the eye of others, if I say I want to become the president of my country, many will laugh but does it matter, we all are compromising our dreams just to stick on the path guided by others for us. Having a dream and achieving it, less can do it because it requires constant work, focus on the target, hope, and an optimistic attitude. We all have these qualities but we get exhausted just by making a little effort. No doubt it's a common problem, and human wants a magical solution to their mega problems. Everyone wants to achieve the world but with a bare minimum effort. And that's not how the world works. The past is filled with stories of people's dreams, their constant struggles, hopes, and failures, and how they made it through life. Well,  that really amazes me.

If you unfold the history of how many people have changed the DNA of the world, you will hardly see a list of 100 people. If I say what would the world look like if the Ottoman empire hadn't fallen, what would happen if the Mughal regime survived even with the invasion of the British, what would have happened if there been no Hitler in WW2, what if Lenin hadn't found communism party against capitalism, how would the world survive without the laws of physics, what would happen if apple didn't fall on Newton, think about the evolution of Computer without Microsoft eminence, what if there would be no current in the world,  what would happen to Independence of Pakistan if Quaid e Azam didn't born in the first place, don't you think that was a coincidence that world drove to the edge and people start thinking of the development in the world and everything just invented or discovered at the perfect time. The world we are seeing and perceiving was the dream of ancient people who desired a better future which led to the world where we stand, although we take everything for granted. People call the child of the elite class a golden spoon, well I don't agree with that, aren't we all golden spoons in contrast to the people of the past? Of all the facilities we have today, thousands are getting benefits from them. If I talk about medicine thousands of lives have been saved today with the discovery of heart attack medicine, another example is the discovery of insulin, before insulin the only option for diabetic patients was starvation, this can prolong death minimum 2 years, but with the discovery of insulin now thousands of lives are being saved today. Well, actually we are the generation with the golden spoon. We have everything that previous people had dreamed of. 

Ancient people, ha, don't you think all inventions took place in just the past 250 years? Well if I can recall my memory I haven't read anything about the invention of the mobile, internet, nuclear weapons, etc. since the start of the 19th century, it was the time when the British nipped us in the bud, attacked our weaknesses, and gained full control on our Mughal empire, what's the reason for the fall of Mughal regime is another debate. It was the time man dreamed of acquiring a world and, a better tomorrow, and lust for power arose the inside mental intellect and convinced him that he could conquer what the world hadn't imagined. If you rank the most important inventions of the 20th century, the airplane would be in the top five, at the start of the 20th century wright brothers had a dream of flying in the sky, and people laughed at them, people were so convinced that it was nearly impossible to fly in the sky, for some people who saw a flying airplane in 1905 thought that it was some demonstration to trick them, but due to their constant efforts and failures, they did what the world had called a dream of boneheaded, soon after that there was a long line of press companies just to get an interview of wright brothers, and then world woke up to the reality. Though people caught the wonder of airplanes they underestimated it for years. First, it was seen as a military weapon. Then as a rich person's toy and now people use it to travel across the world. This was a journey of watching and achieving a dream with all the hardships you face in between. 

Let me allow to convince you, how we all compromise something to achieve a dream with the story of a little mermaid. She used to live in the water and have an alluring voice. Her dream was to walk and run on green grass on land like humans. One day, she met a witch, who told her that she could make her wish come true, but she had to give her beautiful voice to her as a wage. The little mermaid gave her voice to the witch but in exchange, she got two legs. That's what the dream is, to come true you have to do whatever you can and cross every hurdle that comes your way. 

Life has many phases, at every phase you come across will complex set of difficulties. Being a child we usually dream of becoming an adult, we thought that becoming an adult can solve all our childhood issues. We see how our parents earn for us and whatever we desire to want we get it. We find it fascinating and imagine that our toddling steps would get stabilized if we wore the dress of grownups. But paradoxical to it we haven't even imagined what they go through to fulfill our desires. Which burning road they passed through to make our wish come true. Well in student life we are usually little adults, some of us get mature and set the ladder for our future. Some remain unsure throughout their university life of their purpose. Do you think that being successful is defined by your degree? Well, men tend to bet on the high success probability, and in our eyes doing a study has a high success rate. But it doesn't mean without study life is void, but it actually gives us options and a more detailed sense of right and wrong in the world. What about the person whose conscience is still asleep after diving into the water of wisdom? I think the worst of all is that person. Furthermore, in manhood we get surrounded by the cyclone of responsibilities and death is the only door that escapes us from this cyclone. Wait wait wait, in all our discussions we haven't discussed the time for our prayers. No doubt it will remain an eternal part of us. So never forget to pray in front of almighty Allah.
